Why I built TriAtlas

I'm a triathlete myself, and whenever I'm thinking about entering a new race, I end up spending hours reading reviews, watching race-day vlogs and trying to figure out what the course is really like.

I kept finding bits of information spread across forums, Facebook groups, YouTube videos and different websites. There was plenty of useful advice, but it was never all in one place, and comparing races wasn't always easy.

After a while I thought, surely there's a better way to do this. That's what led me to build TriAtlas.

The idea is simple: create one place where athletes can share honest reviews of the races they've done, rate the courses and organisation, and leave the kind of tips they wish they'd known before race day.

TriAtlas only becomes useful if athletes contribute to it. If you've raced somewhere that isn't on the website yet, send it in and I'll get it added as soon as I can.

Triathlon isn't a cheap sport. If this website helps someone choose the right race—or avoid the wrong one—then it's doing exactly what I hoped it would.
