1.9 km swim in the cool, clear water of Whiskeytown Lake, a reservoir ringed by pine forest.

Bike800 m (2,625 ft) elev.

Rolling one-lap 90 km bike from the lake down into the Sacramento Valley, with a long descent early and rolling valley roads to the finish.

Run100 m (328 ft) elev.

Two-lap 21.1 km run on the Sacramento River Trail and across the Sundial Bridge, mostly flat but exposed and very hot.
