Challenge Sanremo is a middle-distance race on the Italian Riviera. The demanding Ligurian bike course is offset by a flat coastal run, giving strong cyclists a real advantage.
1.9 km Mediterranean swim in the Bay of Sanremo, generally calm in October with water around 21-23°C.
90 km Ligurian ride combining the coastal Via Aurelia with inland climbs behind Sanremo; genuinely hilly with technical descents and sea views throughout.
21.1 km run largely on the Pista Ciclabile, the converted seafront railway line - flat, smooth and spectator-friendly.
Actual monthly averages from the last 3 years (Open-Meteo). Real race day may vary.
Water temp uses athlete-reported values first, then official race data, then the marine archive (sea swims, measured at the nearest offshore point). Values tagged est. are modelled from recent air temperature for lakes and rivers, where no observational data exists.
