The race

Challenge Israman is a full-distance race in Israel's southern desert, widely considered one of the hardest long-distance courses in the world thanks to its huge climb out of Eilat and exposed desert terrain.

3.8 km Red Sea swim in Eilat's crystal-clear, warm and salty water - typically 21-22°C with excellent visibility over the coral.

Bike2,200 m (7,218 ft) elev.

180 km brutal desert course climbing from sea level up the Eilat Mountains to around 800 m, with long sustained ascents, big descents and desert wind.

Run400 m (1,312 ft) elev.

42.2 km desert marathon on rolling roads and the Eilat seafront, run in dry heat with sharp night-time cooling.
